The Villain's Little Cat

Chapter 71

Kate was still absorbing those lights from the insects from time to time while sitting with Kyle. On the other hand, the others were busy dealing with the insects by relying on their various abilities.

Soon, they reached City B.

There were a lot of tents outside the city along with countless people battling against these insects. The insects kept on coming and these people couldn’t do anything but to fight.

Many of them were wearing soldiers’ attire.

“Hey, is it possible to enter City B?” Jake rolled down the window and shouted to the nearby soldier who was fighting.

“If you’re an awakened person, you can enter as long as you paid a million. Every awakened person can bring two ordinary people with him or her but they need to pay a million per person.”

A million per person.

That was certainly not cheap.

.....

But thankfully, the currency they previously had still could be used. If it couldn’t be used in the slightest bit, the money in their account would be useless.

“Thank you!” Jake yelled and then continued to drive.

“Are you going to show your ability?” Dr. Dall asked after Jake had rolled up the window again.

“Yep.” Jake nodded. “My dad will whip me if I didn’t show to him that I have at least done something useful once in a while.”

Dr. Dall rolled his eyes.

It was indeed impossible for Jake’s parents to expect too much from this prodigal son of theirs. What they wanted the most was for Jake to do something that was useful because this naughty child of theirs had been causing countless troubles that couldn’t be counted anymore.

Even though Dr. Dall was not Jake’s family’s doctor, he naturally knew the notorious name of Jake.

Anyway, Jake is Kyle’s friend, so it was normal for him to know some gossips.

“At the very least, we’re not completely degraded to the point that everyone had to use resources for trade...” Jake then saw that there was a group of people who was giving resources in exchange for them to be able to enter. “Forget I said anything.”

Kate looked outside the window curiously.

She could guess that City B was allowing people who had either money or strong enough to be able to enter. Aside from those people, no one else would be allowed to enter City B.

That was quite fair.

After all, the economy hadn’t completely collapsed even though it was already on the brink of collapses.

Those who had money would definitely want to use what they had accumulated for so many years to buy a place for them to stay. And those who were willing to work could use the supplies they had gathered along the way in exchange to stay in City B.

“If you had wanted to stay in a city, why not stay in City A?” Kate’s Father didn’t understand why they wanted to work so hard to move to City B. The condition of the two cities were not that different.

“Our parents are here.” Jake laughed bitterly.

Dylan nodded. “Yes.”

“My father should be here.” Kyle also nodded. He actually forgot where his father was deployed last time.

Anyway, they were all already adults and had lived on their own. Dylan’s parents were not worried about their son, Jake’s parents had long wanted to kick this annoying brat from home, while Kyle was used to live by himself because his father wanted him to be independent.

All in all, they lived separately from their parents.

“Meow.”

Kate was a bit embarrassed, but she really didn’t think of leaving her parents even when she grew up. Probably it was because she had long gotten used to stay with her parents, but she didn’t even think about that possibility.

At least, she didn’t think about it until she turned into a cat and had no other choice but to think about this matter.

And this ability of hers...

“Meow...?”

Kate felt bitter.

She knew that once she turned back into humans, there will be a lot of people who were chasing after her. Not to mention that they might even use her parents to lure her out.

She really didn’t want it.

Kate sighed deeply.

Why can’t she have a rather normal ability. This overpowered ability was simply going to make things difficult for her.

Oh well.

She will just hide the fact that her healing ability is different.

“Little Kitty, you’re not allowed to make a move on your own.” Kyle tapped Kate’s furry forehead. “From now on, you can only use healing ability and not the reverse. For attack and so on, leave it to me.”

“Meow.”

“Good girl.”
